The Bucs’ hopes for future success hinge, in part, on the performance of its 2012 draft class.

And that class is off to a good start if the postseason awards are any indication.

Three Bucs – running back Doug Martin, safety Mark Barron and linebacker Lavonte David – have been named to the Pro Football Weekly/Pro Football Writers of America All-Rookie team, released today.

None of the three selections should come as a surprise to anyone who watched the Bucs this season.

Martin rushed for a franchise rookie record 1,454 yards and 11 touchdowns, the second-best single-season effort in club history. David was the team’s leading tackler, registering a team-high 139 tackles and playing in every sub-package on defense. Barron, who at times had some rookie struggles, finished strong and was the team’s third-leading tackler, with 89.
