Bucs Pro Bowl guard Davin Joseph missed the entire season with a knee injury suffered in the preseason.

But the 2006 first-round pick did not let up off the field, continuing his community service efforts and earning the title of Buccaneers Man of the Year. As such, Joseph is nominated for the annual Walter Payton Man of the Year award, a league-wide honor.

Joseph has been consistently active in the community through his Davin Joseph Events for Cause Foundation, an organization devoted to enhancing athletic and performing arts programs in public schools. Another stated goal is encouraging the community involvement of others.
Joseph has for the past three years also been the Bucs’ spokesman or the NFL and United Way’s LIVEUNITED campaign, geared toward promoting volunteerism.

Three finalists will be selected from among the 32 NFL teams’ nominees for the Walter Payton Award with the winner to be announced Super Bowl week in New Orleans. The winner receives a sizable donation to the charity of his choice.
