The Bucs still haven’t made the decision to bring back veteran free agent running back Cadillac Williams, and one of the reasons they’re in no hurry to is a guy Bucs fans know well: Earnest Graham.

Graham, offensive coordinator Greg Olson said, is the frontrunner to be the team’s No. 2 tailback behind LeGarrette Blount and could see less time at fullback if things go as planned.

“I have a real trust factor with Earnest,” Olson said. “I just really trust the guy. I know right now, if we played a game today, he’d be that guy. He’d be the third-down back.”

Kregg Lumpkin is in the mix, too, with Olson saying he’ll get a shot to take the job.

“We’re trying to make a decision between Earnest and Kregg,” Olson said. “We like the way (fullback) Erik Lorig looks right now. I’d really like to take some of that fullback position off of Earnest and get Lorig playing full-time fullback and then let Earnest and Kregg kind of compete for that second tailback job.

“I know Earnest can handle the third down role. We’ll see if Kregg can do that too.”

We’ll have more on Graham and the tailback position in a feature in Monday’s newspaper.
