Gerald McCoy not shying away from lofty goals

Bucs first-round pick Gerald McCoy was all smiles as he took the stage for his press conference fresh off signing a blockbuster $63 million rookie contract.

But the guy with the ever-present smile got quite serious when he began talking about his lofty career goals.

"The money is there, but like I always tell my family, "The money is for you guys,' " McCoy said. "My goal is to be the best football player
I can be. I want to be in the Hall of Fame. I want to be in the Pro Bowl. I want to be known as one of the best ever. That's what I want to do.

"By doing that, the money will come and I will share it with my family. The money is the money. I'm not saying it's not great. Nobody is going to say it's not great. But I'm a football player and that's what I want to do."

McCoy was immediately inserted into the starting lineup on his first day and right away started mixing things up. Seems he's wasting no time in beginning his chase for those very elusive goals of his.
