Doug Williams agrees to one-year contract extension

Doug Williams has agreed to a one-year contract to remain with the Bucs as their pro personnel director.

Williams had been considering a return to coaching and met with Southern University officials last Saturday in Louisiana, but the Bucs offered Williams the one-year extension to his contract, which was set to expire in February.

C Faine (back), Hovan (illness) miss Thursday practice

The Bucs had two main cogs -- one on each side of the football -- miss practice Thursday.

Center Jeff Faine has a sore back and defensive tackle Chris Hovan was sick Thursday and did not practice.

Bucs C Faine not at practice

Bucs C Jeff Faine was not at practice Thursday. Faine missed several practices last week with an elbow injury but started against the Saints. He was not on the injury report Wednesday.
