Pro Football Weekly reports that the Bucs have inked Josh Freeman to his rookie deal:

Buccaneers rookie Josh Freeman won’t have to worry about falling behind in the team’s quarterback competition because of a contract holdout.

Freeman, the 17th overall pick this year, signed a five-year deal around 1:30 a.m. ET on Friday morning, according to the Bucs’ website, and will be in uniform for the first practice of training camp. An ESPN report indicates the contract is worth $36 million with $10.245 million guaranteed.

The Kansas State product will compete against veterans Byron Leftwich and Luke McCown to become Tampa Bay’s starter under center.
