Oh sweet Jesus please let this happen so I don't have to go to Detroit.
This rumor is from Steve Duemig so who knows if he’s just drunk, but according to him Michael Clayton is on the verge of re-signing with the Buccaneers. AND STEVE DUEMIG KNOWS PEOPLE! YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT HE KNOWS!

A Clayton re-signing would be one less roster spot available for T.J. Houshmandzadeh, and there is talk now that the rumor of T.J. visiting Tampa was just a smokescreen from his agent to raise his price to the Vikings. We’ll know for sure tomorrow.

UPDATE: The Times is reporting that the deal is a five-year contract worth UP TO $26-million. It has $10.5-million worth of guarantees, which isn’t so bad for a 5-year contract. And if the performance milestones are met for the accelerators, I don’t mind the high dollar value. Clayton did all right last season, but I’m still skeptical that it was a contract-year performance and not him suddenly getting better.
