Shaun King Takes Off To The Great White North

The CFL's Hamilton Tiger-Cats (is there another kind of tiger I am unaware of?) are expected to sign Shaun King later today. His contract is expected to include a custom-fitted tuque, Rush's Moving Pictures CD, and all the maple syrup he can drink. I believe this fulfills my Canadian joke quota for this story.

King's addition will bring the total number of quarterbacks on the Ticats' roster up to five. Say, that's a lot of quarterbacks. Someone should write a story that points that out. One of the other quarterbacks is Timmy Chang, a guy I liked a lot coming out of college, but I was apparently the only one. Chang is the current NCAA record holder for most passing yards, yards from scrimmage and passes without an interception. But I guess the fact that this is Chang's fifth team in two years indicates he's not as good as his run-and-shoot statistics lead me to believe. Anyway, regarding King, the hoser in the article says:

"The poise he shows in the pocket is amazing," the source said. "He is ready to come up here for the next 10 years."

Of course he is; he needs the work. He's ready to go anywhere they're willing to pay him. The CFL regular season begins June 28 and Hamilton's first game is at Calgary on June 30. Despite my tone for the last couple paragraphs, I hope he does well and can hoist the Grey Cup at the end of the season. I hear it's filled with Molson.

Seriously, Les Steckel and Clyde Christensen ruined Shaun King.
