Russell is a big topic at Combine

Could the first draft pick in April really look like some oversized Eddie Murphy character? Yes, that’s a shot at chubby LSU quarterback JaMarcus Russell, who definitely didn’t arrive at the NFL Combine as a lean machine. Russell may have even tipped the scales at 280 pounds in the biggest game of his life, throwing for a career-best 322 yards in the Sugar Bowl win over Notre Dame.

Tampa Bay Bucs 2006 Training Camp Schedule

The Bucs open their training camp on July 28 @ 8:30 am. The camp will be open to the public, and will be held at Disney’s Wide World of Sports complex for the 5th year in a row.

Bucs Sign Jerald Sowell

Today the Bucs filled signed the unrestricted free-agent fullback, Jerald Sowell. Sowell comes to us from the NY Jets. He’s a 32 year old, NFL veteran of 9 years. He’ll be the replacement for Jameel Cook, who left the Bucs for the Houston Texans earlier in the offseason.

Bucs Re-sign Anthony Davis

Today the Bucs moved toward keeping their offensive line together. They re-signed LT Anthony Davis to a 3 year $4.725 million contract. Davis, entering his third NFL season, would have been a restricted free agent after the 2006 season and an unrestricted free agent after the 2007 season.

Bucs Sign Torrin Tucker

In an expected move, the Bucs signed tackle Torrin Tucker after the Dallas Cowboys passed him up by letting a Thursday night deadline pass without a matching offer.
