Galloway Is Gonna Punch Garcia

Jeff Garcia had a press conference today and was asked about Joey Galloway’s role on the offense. He did a lot of hemming and hawing about Galloway’s injuries and mumbled through what they’re trying to do. And then he said this…
“We just need to continue to plug away and find ways to get him involved, and hopefully when he is involved, when he is on the field, hopefully that opening occurs for him and I’m able to hit him.”
“Hopefully that opening occurs”? Hey, asshat, those openings HAVE occurred. Even in his limited playing time, Galloway has gotten open several times and WIDE open on a couple of them. Just last week, in fact. Didn’t you see him? Just before halftime last Sunday when he was wide open way down the field? But you threw it to Ike Hilliard and he lost a yard and you ended up punting? Ring a bell? I saw it. STOP BLAMING EVERYONE ELSE! Your wide receivers and tight ends are getting open on many different occasions, but you’re not throwing to them. Unless Jon Gruden is calling into your helmet, “Scramble around like a Weazel Ball for a while and then throw your checkdown,” you have to shoulder some of this.
Antonio Bryant, Michael Clayton, Jerramy Stevens, Warrick Dunn… they’ve all been wide open at various times and you’ve missed or avoided them or waited too long to go to them. Sorry, Jeff. You’re doing pretty well, but you’re not above blame for the lack of touchdowns. Galloway’s not really the kind of guy to punch a dude out for disrespecting him, but Garcia should be prepared for some serious glaring.
