Peter King Is A Big Fat Bully

Reader Matt brought this bit from Peter King to my attention:

Gaines Adams needs to learn that when a ball is coming to him in coverage, and there’s nothing between him and the ball, and it hits him right in the shoulder pads … well, those are points you can’t get back.

Notice King didn’t pick on Derrick Brooks or Ronde Barber, both of whom also dropped gift-wrapped interceptions from Jake Delhomme. Why? Because Barber and Brooks are veteran leaders on the team who would wring King out until they could baste the entire Butterball factory. Adams is a soft-spoken second-year guy who isn’t going to call King out on something as stupid as “You should catch balls thrown your way.” He’s a defensive end with two interceptions only six games into the season, one returned for a touchdown. Most defensive ends don’t get two interceptions in their careers. And King is trying to tell him (in between bites of caramel covered funnel cake) the importance of catching an interception? Fuck you, Peter King. Fuck you with a saguaro cactus. Gaines is a nice guy who puts forth a lot of effort and has already exceeded expectations for the season and you’re a fucking bully for picking on the quiet guy but not the cool kids. I will personally pay a Starbuck’s employee $20 to take a small shit in your next latte.

Christ, ever since Tom Brady got injured, King has been an insufferable shitbox who can’t spend half of his articles trying to lure Brady to his favorite Boston glory hole anymore. So now he has to fill his quota with even more bullshit. It’s almost enough to make me wish Brady had never gotten injured.
