Less than 24 hours after the Bucs beat the Falcons, it was announced that Brian Griese would be the starter this Sunday against Chicago. So the questions begin again. Jeff Garcia says that he can play. Jon Gruden won’t say anything about Jeff Garcia. Brian Griese is simply going with the motions. Garcia has been involved in trade rumors, but the Bucs wouldn’t comment. Meanwhile, he has been practicing hard to get his starting job back, embarrassed by the fact that on Sunday, he was listed as the third quarterback on the depth chart. Griese’s performance wasn’t overwhelming, but it appears that he did all the right things to keep the job, at least for now.
