Agent Bus Cook told a local Mississippi newspaper that a deal for Brett Favre could come down at any minute.
The Clarion-Ledger of Jackson, Miss. quoted Cook as saying, "Brett's ready to go play. It looks like it's going to be New York or Tampa Bay. We're waiting to find out and we could learn in the next hour or so."
That interview took place at 11:25 a.m., which was a couple hours ago. But it indicates that the end might be close. Read the entire story here.
Meanwhile, in Green Bay, general manager Ted Thompson has postponed a 12:30 p.m. press conference. A Packers spokesperson said Thompson would meet with the media later this afternoon, but no time has been specified.
Also in Green Bay, a private aircraft left Green Bay for Favre's hometown of Hattiesburg, Miss. at 1:27 p.m., reportedly with Favre onboard. The flight, according to the flight plan, is scheduled to arrive at 3:20 p.m.
An earlier flight plan for the same route was scrapped, with one report suggesting trade negotiations caused the delay.
