Training Camp Summary: Tuesday July 29

- Donte Nicholson has quietly had a good week so far. He has made some interceptions, forced some fumbles and generally been very effective.
- Another safety that is showing a lot in camp is Sabby Piscitelli. Piscitelli runs at 100% on just about every play. Today he had an interception and a forced fumble.
- Earnest Graham (twisted ankle) and Ben Troupe (blow to the head (heh, I said "blow" and "head")) were knocked out of practice early. Both are day to day. B.J. Askew also tweaked an ankle, but he kept practicing.
- Speaking of Troupe, he was able to stonewall Gaines Adams on a 1-on-1 line drill. Someone lit a fire under his ass.
- Jeff Garcia still isn't quite as sharp as we all know he can be. Several of his throws were short or off-target.
- Earnest Graham has been getting a lot of yards running counters, but today he went there one too many times because Derrick Brooks plugged him hard for a loss.
- After taking a lot of second team reps yesterday, Greg White was back to the first team today.
- More blocking from wide receivers. As you would expect, Michael Clayton excels here.
- Raheem Morris had safeties working the blocking sled. Were they being punished for something, or is this just a way to get them to hit harder?
- Maurice Stovall made a diving, one-handed catch from Brian Griese. It was easily the best catch of the day.
- Luke McCown was, again, the third quarterback today, but he's still throwing the ball better than Griese.
- Joey Galloway spent today's practice running 100 yard dashes -- just like I do when I'm recovering. Jon Gruden says he'll be out of commission for another day or so, but it's obviously not so serious that we need to worry about it.
- The second practice of the day is special teams only. I'll let you know if something important happens there, but it's supposed to be short and relatively uninteresting.
