White In, Hefney Out

Greg White must have realized that he had few options regarding his contract because he finally signed and will be at camp today.
No one's mentioning it, but White kind of screwed himself by waiting so long. League rules prohibit reworking a contract more than once per year. So even if he has a great 2008 season, he'll have to wait until July 26, 2009 to sign a new deal, and that will surely piss him off again, not to mention the fans who will be clamoring for Bruce Allen's head for waiting on getting him a new deal not knowing that he isn't allowed to. But that's a problem for another time.
The Bucs had to release Jonathan Hefney to make room for White. Hefney had been up and down in the offseason but apparently wasn't performing well enough to compete. And since he was an awesome Volunteer, you get a picture of him this time.
