  • Every quarterback looked pretty good for this being the first day of camp, but Brian Griese and Luke McCown stood out in particular. McCown took first team snaps. Sweet.
  • Michael Clayton is on fire. Not literally, of course. That would suck. But he's catching everything.
  • Micheal Spurlock, interestingly enough, also looked good. Maurice Stovall and Paris Warren, by comparison, did not.
  • All of the top three running backs had good days, Bennett looking fresh and fast. Earnest Graham took the majority of running play snaps while Warrick Dunn caught a lot of passes.
  • Ben Troupe and Jerremy Stevens have such soft hands. But if one of them had to be cut tomorrow, it would probably be Troupe. Stevens can just make more plays.
  • Greg White looks the same as he did last year, fast and powerful.
  • Marques Douglas looks out of shape and slow. He made some plays, but he was the weak link on the defensive line today.
  • Gaines Adams just keeps getting faster and smoother. One play, he was actually covering Clayton, but Clayton burned him pretty bad. Still, he kept up and just about matched his speed. Look for more exotic zone blitzes as camp goes on.
  • Phillip Buchanon is not going to give up his cornerback position easily. He had a great interception off a tipped pass. He is clearly the leader for the corner spot opposite Ronde Barber. Aqib Talib is athletically talented, but he missed some easy assignments today.
  • Matt McCoy is fast and powerful. When the pads go on, I think he will reveal himself as a strong hitter. The competitions for backup linebacker are going to be great.
Gaines Adams's impression of Gene Simmons is lacking.
