Bucs Sign Lots Of Dudes

The Bucs signed sixth-rounder Geno Hayes today. I didn't care for the pick at the time especially after the FSU cheating incident, but he turned me around a little later in the offseason. Also, Charles Bennett, Chad Lucas and Donte Nicholson have all signed new deals.
Nicholson is a bit of a surprise and it may mean that the attempt to make Eugene Wilson into a cornerback isn't over after all. Jonathan Hefney hasn't been a great offseason performer, so if the Bucs are going to keep five safeties, it looks like now it would be Jermaine Phillips, Tanard Jackson, Sabby Piscitelli, Will Allen and Nicholson.
Lucas has had some nice catches, but it's unrealistic to think he has a shot at sticking on the 53 man roster. There's just too much depth that's better than him.
Bennett may actually make the cut since he's a Buccaneer draft pick and has shown significant improvement over the offseason from where he was last year. With the added emphasis on pass rushing this year, I expect that an extra defensive end will be retained.
