Jeff Garcia Missed His Calling

If Jeff Garcia had chosen Olympic swimming instead of football, he would be known as the greatest swimmer of all time. Garcia did an interview with the Justin Palowski on the Sports Animal that lasted 18:52, and I swear Garcia never took a breath during that whole time. He must have spent the previous hour huffing a combination of pure oxygen and meth because he talks about a thousand miles an hour and never lets up.
The interview itself is really nothing new. Garcia said that he might retire if the Bucs considered franchising him next year, which is much different than how it was portrayed last week. But he said he won't hold out of camp, he'll fulfill his contract and he'll give his best this season, which is really all you can ask. In between that, though, he said he felt that not getting a new contract means the Bucs aren't respecting him and that he wants to be paid along the lines of other current NFL quarterbacks, who he says are making $7 million to $14 million per year. I covered that here a couple months ago, and those numbers still sound fishy now. But I still think the Bucs and Garcia will come to some sort of agreement before camp starts. In the meantime, Garcia did a radio interview to say that he was done talking about his contract.
On a different note, Palowski didn't speak for very long but from what I heard, he's about 1000x better than Steve Duemig, who is the worst kind of hate monger: an unfunny one.
