Bucs Sign Boyd

The Bucs started from the end in their draft signings on Friday and signed Cory Boyd. The Bucs are at their camp roster camp already, so for each draft pick they sign, they're going to have to cut someone. Friday, they cut John Rochford to make room for Boyd.
Last year the team didn't start signing draft picks until about a week before camp. I'm not sure if this indicates a new philosophy from the Bucs or if Boyd's agent is just really pressed for time. In the past, the Bruce Allen's thinking has been that he doesn't want to put a bunch of money in a kid's hands any sooner than necessary because, in general, 21-Year Old Athlete + Money + Free Time = Mug Shot. We'll see how soon the other picks fall in place now. Maybe this is just a one-time thing.
Boyd has looked pretty good in OTAs so far. He has been especially good at catching the ball out of the backfield.
