Bucs with Interest in Free Agent Back Julius Jones

Could the Bucs be taking a hard look for free agent running back Julius Jones? That’s the rumors today as Tampa Bay may want to give Jones a shot at being the backup or even part-time starter along with current Buc Earnest Graham, who really came on in 2007 when Cadillac Williams got hurt. The talking with Jones could also show that Williams is not near 100 percent for the 08 season.
Jones has already been talking with the Lions, a team that needs a back, but Tampa Bay would love to have him as well, despite having Graham. The team also has spoken to former Buccaneer Warrick Dunn about coming back, but after talks on Tuesday, Dunn left without a deal and it appears he’s headed elsewhere.
Last season with the Cowboys splitting time with now feature back Marion Barber, Jones ran for 588 yards on 164 carries with two TD’s. He was coming off a season in 2006 when he rushed for 1084 yards, 4.1 per carry, and four TD’s. He had been with the Cowboys for four seasons, but with Barber as the starter, Jones will look elsewhere, maybe Tampa or Detroit, to play in 2008.
