This Can’t Possibly Be True

According to the Times blog, the Bucs just traded for Brian Griese. Traded.
Terms of the deal were undisclosed, but it is likely for a second-day draft pick. Griese was owed a $300,000 roster bonus Tuesday, prompting the Bears to put him on the market. Rather than risk bidding for him in free agency, the Bucs completed a trade.
Griese would have generated very little interest in free agency and the Bucs could have easily snagged him when the Bears let him go. Are the Bucs going to try and get the pick back by trading Chris Simms or Bruce Gradkowski? Will Griese be the successor to Jeff Garcia in the endless string of veterans that will start for Jon Gruden in the absence of a true franchise quarterback? Or does this strengthen the possibility that the Bucs will take a quarterback earlier in the draft?
Traded. For Brian Griese. I'm gonna go lick a wall socket. It will be less painful than watching this bullshit.
