For the sake of comparison, here is the signing activity within the other NFC South teams:

Atlanta: Erik Coleman, Ben Hartsock, Von Hutchins, Chris Redman, Michael Turner

Carolina: Ricardo Colclough, Jordan Gross, Brad Hoover, Damione Lewis, Muhsin Muhammad, Dante Wesley, Travelle Wharton

New Orleans: Randall Gay, Martin Gramatica, Devery Henderson, Bobby McCray, Mark Simoneau, Aaron Stecker, Jonathan Vilma (via trade), Brian Young

In terms of "bang", you have to give it to Atlanta for stepping up and signing Michael Turner. But it looks like the real winner is New Orleans who signed at least three players that the Buccaneers had shown interest in (that I know of... it could have been more.) Carolina signed a couple guys I never heard of, but retaining Jordan Gross with their franchise tag was their big move. It would be silly to try and say which team is better now since the Bucs were the only NFC South team to make the playoffs and, theoretically, standing pat shouldn't be so bad. But I've got to tell you, New Orleans isn't looking too bad.
