Three Year Extensions: Head Coach Jon Gruden and G.M. Bruce Allen

ESPN.com among others, have reported that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have extended the contracts of Head Coach Jon Gruden and General Manager Bruce Allen Three Years. The numbers in the contracts have yet to be revealed.

I'm ecstatic to see Jon Gruden get a contract extension. He's battled injuries since 2002 and has done a pretty good job with what Allen provides him with. This season he proved he was willing to change (a bit) and seemed to really get his players to rally behind and believe in his system.

I think the Glazers missed a perfect opportunity to send a message to General Manager Bruce Allen. Nothing would have stung more than having to tell Gruden about his three year extension, while Allen wonders about his future. I haven't been overly impressed with Allen's work since he's arrived. His Drafts are finally starting to pan out, but his Free Agent acquisitions leave A LOT to be desired. Hopefully he makes a splash this off-season in the Wide Receiver Department....
