Kiffin Signs Extension

Following up on the story of the possibility that Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin may possibly leave the team, it is being reported by the Associated Press that the team has signed Kiffin to a contract extension Friday, effectively ending speculation that after 12 seasons he would leave the team.  Temrs of the extension were not available as of this posting.

Rumors had been rampant that Kiffin, father of current Oakland Raiders head coach Lane Kiffin, may join his son; there were also rumblings about Kiffin possibly joining USC coach Pete Carroll in Atlanta had Carroll accepted the head coach position.
