Game 16 Preview: Panthers

Hey, guess what I forgot to do! Oh well, it's not like there's a lot to preview this afternoon. The Bucs will play mostly third-stringers and ball boys and Carolina will start Matt Moore at quarterback and the whole thing will be as sloppy and uncoordinated as first-time sex, except this will last about 90 times longer. After a season where the big free-agent acquisition for the Panthers was David Carr, I'm pretty sure they'll just be happy when they can stop pretending that they even have pride left to play for. I just saw where the goals for the Panthers should be to "finish strong and be professional".

The Talking Plank - Week 16

The Talking Plank -

Panthers At Bucs:

Yeah, yeah, been too busy to update on last week's dominate loss (what the...not another Detroit game!). Needless to say, it gets kind of hard to predict games when you start playing them like a preseason contest, and this game is likely to be the same thing. With Galloway out, and with Graham, Hilliard, and White likely to rest, not too mention Stovall out for the year, the Bucs are likely to have one of those "interesting" games that you just aren't sure how things will turn out for them. Needless to say, I'm sure the Bucs would prefer to win going in, and this is definitely a team they are capable of beating, even with a slightly lesser cast of players available.

Panthers, Bucs To Collide In Tampa

Published: December 29th, 2007

A pair of NFC South foes wrap up the regular season in Tampa this Sunday when the Panthers face the Buccaneers.  The Panthers eliminated themselves from playoff contention with last week’s 20-13 loss to the Cowboys.  Carolina has been held out of the postseason since 2005.  The Bucs, who have already secured the division title, were clipped by edged by the 49ers last week, 21-19.  Tampa Bay is locked in to the fourth seed in the NFC playoffs, and will meet the New York Giants in the opening round.  The Buccaneers beat the Panthers 20-7 in Week Four.

Bengals Find Safety With Youth

Rookies Marvin White and Chinedum Ndukwe lined up as the starting safeties for Cincinnati’s interstate battle against Cleveland.  This is a sign of things to come in the Bengals’ secondary for 2008.

White and Ndukwe have intrigued coaches throughout the summer and into the regular season.  They quickly established themselves as backups behind Madieu Williams and Dexter Jackson.  Williams will be a free agent this coming spring.  He’ll likely be overpaid by somebody else.  Jackson is a stop-gap veteran with limitations.  That means the Bengals could go into the 2008 season with White and Ndukwe as full-time starters.
