The Buccaneers didn’t have Jeff Garcia yesterday but his replacement proved to be good enough. Luke McCown hit Jerramy Stevens on a 4-yard touchdown pass with 14-seconds left to give Tampa Bay a come from behind 27-23 victory at New Orleans. The play was set up by a Saints’ turnover when Reggie Bush attempted a toss on a reverse to Devery Henderson. The ball was fumbled and the Bucs’ Jovan Haye came up with the football at the New Orleans 37-yard line with 3:36 remaining. McCown finished the game by completing 29-of-37 for 313 yards with 2 touchdowns and one interception. Garcia missed the game with a deep bruise in his lower back. Earnest Graham rushed for 106 yards and a touchdown and Joey Galloway burned the Saints again with 7 catches for 159 yards. The 8-and-4 Buccaneers move one step closer to winning the NFC South. The Saints fall to 5-and-7 with their playoff hopes in serious jeopardy.
