Quarterback Jeff Garcia has a hairline fracture in his back, according to a report by ESPN's Chris Mortensen.

Last week, Jon Gruden denied that an MRI or CAT scan had revealed any structural damage to Garcia's back.

Believe who you want to believe.

It's the same injury that Brad Johnson suffered in 2002, one which took him 21 days to recover from.

Garcia won't start today and will be the inactive third quarterback. Frankly, it's very unlikely he will play next week at Houston.

The Bucs will go with Luke McCown, who took nearly all the first-team reps last week.

It's not unusual for the Bucs to vague about injuries. But we'll see if they will give us more information after the game.
