10 Greatest Buc Moments in Raymond James History

This year marks the 10th anniversary of when Raymond James Stadium was open in Tampa, Florida. It was called “The Crown Jewel of the NFL,” and has provided many remarkable moments of Buccaneer history in its short life span.
In its 10 seasons, “RayJay” has become more than a house for Buccaneer football. It has become home by setting the stage for the greatest and most memorable events in franchise history. The stadium remains one of the elite stadiums in the NFL, one of the most notable. Few stadiums can match “RayJay’s” personality, design, and distinct home field advantage. The Buccaneers website is counting down the top 10 greatest moments in Raymond James Stadium’s history. I will count down with them, one by one, and provide detail in everyone I can. I will count from 10 down.
10. Brooks Corrals Vick (December 8, 2002)
Leading up to a game against the Falcons, the hype that week was all about how the Bucs would stop Michael Vick.
“All the talk all week was, ‘How do you stop Michael Vick? How do you stop Michael Vick.’ I made it clear that we respected what he could do, but nobody in America said, ‘How will he fare against the Buccaneers’ defense.”
-Head Coach Jon Gruden
Tampa Bay pretty much dominated the game, beating the Falcons 34-10. The game was important, as it was a battle for first place in the NFC South Division. Quarterback Brad Johnson was 23/31 for 276 yards and 4 TD’s, but the real star of the game was Derrick Brooks. He had a total of 10 tackles in the game, setting the pace for the Bucs D. Brooks and the rest of the defense held Vick to only nine rushing yards, and 125 passing yards. He also threw a pick, was sacked, and was hurried all day. The Bucs Defense showed the league why everyone should be scared of them, and not Michael Vick.
