Another Practice Squad Receiver Makes The Team

Bruce Allen hates Jeff Garcia. That's the only possibly explanation as to why he keeps a revolving door between the practice squad and active roster for third-tier receivers. First it was Chad Lucas, then it was Chas Gessner. Now Michael Spurlock is being promoted to the active roster to fill the spot that could have been filled by, oh, I don't know... someone who has taken an NFL snap, maybe.

No, I don't think bringing Mike Williams in is the answer. But if my only choices are him or Spurlock, and they're both costing next to nothing, I have to think that Williams is more likely to make some kind of play in a game. Maybe Spurlock is some kind of special teams freak and will take Torrie Cox's place. That has to be a consideration. But God help us if someone rolls over on Joey Galloway's ankle or tackles Ike Hilliard low and snaps his ACL.
