Roster Moves Are Boring

The Bucs filled Mark Jones's roster spot with Chad Lucas yesterday. And that is probably the last time you'll see his name until he gets cut again. To take Lucas's vacated spot on the practice squad, the team signed Derek Hamilton, who was originally a third round pick by the 49ers in 2004. So we can all rest easy now knowing that the wide receiver position has been fortified by the best talent that no one else wanted.
The team also cut Zack Crockett and promoted Byron Storer up from the practice squad to take his place. Considering the Bucs' backfield situation, Crockett must be pretty used up for the Bucs to release him and replace him with an undrafted free agent. Most likely he knew all along that it was a short-term deal, for which the Bucs paid Crockett about $94,000. Not bad for two weeks work. The Bucs will fill Storer's practice squad spot with a scarecrow.
Damn this was dull. If only there was a way I could make this entry at least a little interesting.
