It’s About Time The Bucs Got Another Running Back

I kind of assumed Jon Gruden was kidding when he mentioned Tiki Barber's name in passing when talking about acquiring a running back.
'We've got a guy on our team who has a brother who's a good back,' Gruden said with a grin.
But then I saw that Tiki had just been quoted as saying he misses the game and might like to come back.
"I miss football. I want to be out there playing on Sunday afternoons. I miss the stage. ... I know I still have a lot left."
It sounds like he wasn't trying save his body so much as he had just had an assfull of Tom Coughlin. By the way, Tiki isn't coming to Tampa. The Giants still own his rights and aren't about to help another potential NFC playoff contender with such a high-production back.
The same article also throws Barrett Ruud into the running back mix. I guess when reporters don't have any facts, they just start yelling random shit until some of the words make a coherent sentence. Then they go with it.
'I set a Nebraska record for touchdowns,' said the former fullback from Southeast High in Lincoln. Bucs coach Jon Gruden even talked to Ruud in training camp about some goal-line fullback. We think it was the heat. Ruud smiled and said he's available.
The author fails to mention flying cars, a balanced federal budget or a gracious Eagles fan. I'm not sure why since the article is about things that aren't fucking happening anytime in the near future.
One real possibility is dealing a fourth round pick or so to Minnesota for Mewelde Moore. Despite Brad Childress's statements to the contrary, Moore is available for the right price and the Vikings aren't going to the playoffs this year. Other potential trades could be for JJ Arrington (Arizona), Reuben Droughns (NY Giants), LaBrandon Toefield (Jacksonville), Mike Bell (Denver), Tatum Bell (Detroit) or Julius Jones (Dallas). There are some guys available in free agency now, but other than Patrick Pass, none of them are any better than what the Bucs currently have.
And stop wishing for Michael Turner. Have you seen San Diego this year? There's no way they let him go.
