OCD Reporters Illustrate Peppers’s Ineffectiveness

You have to think that when Bruce Allen selected Jeremy Trueblood in the second round of the 2006 draft, that he was thinking specifically of getting someone to neutralize Julius Peppers. After years of having Peppers take Kenyatta Walker's lunch and making Walker thank him for the privilege, the Bucs finally got a guy in there that can anchor the right side.
And he did quite a job against Peppers. If you didn't take the time to monitor Peppers on every play of Sunday's game, don't worry about it. The masochists at the Charlotte Observer did it for you. Every. Single. Play. Like this one from the first quarter:
Peppers chases to far side of field on rollout left. [Jeff] Garcia cuts in front of him for touchdown. Bucs lead 7-0.
Or this one from the second quarter:
Peppers flows down line of scrimmage while being blocked by Trueblood. Garcia throws as Peppers starts to get pressure. Garcia completes 56-yard pass to Ike Hilliard.
Good times. It really takes you back, doesn't it? Like one of those Time-Life music series, except this doesn't remind you how soon you're going to die.
