Bruce Allen Doesn’t Have Much Faith In The Running Game

Michael Pittman and Earnest Graham have to be wondering what they have to do on the field in order to get some respect around Buccaneer headquarters. First the team contacts Corey Dillon, only to have him grunt back a rejection. Then the rumors start flying about them wanting Tiki Barber to come out of retirement, which he never will. Now, there is talk about a potential trade for Chester Taylor from Minnesota. The Vikings also have Mewelde Moore on their roster, and his name has also been brought up in trade discussions.
I'll grant you that Pittman and Graham don't have that breakaway factor that Cadillac Williams has had, but they've put up some decent numbers in the last couple games. How likely is it that Taylor would do any better in a system that is brand new to him than Pittman and Graham would in the system they have been a part of for several years? Both Taylor and Moore have decent YPC averages, but I'm not convinced that they'll be able to bring that to Tampa.
Bruce, do not burn draft picks or ship away current players to try and augment a running attack that doesn't need any help. The reason for the improved running game is the improved offensive line play across the board. The team is 3-1 with the players you have on the roster now minus Williams and Luke Petitgout. You can win with their backups. Play the cards you have.
