Williams And Petitgout Are Out For The Season

I suppose the correct thing would be to lament the Cadillac Williams injury and be nervous that the running game will start to unravel now that he's gone. To be fair, Williams was starting to hit his stride, and it really is a shame to see him gone. But, honestly, I don't think the team is going to miss him from a playing standpoint very much. He has a great breakout ability once he gets in the clear, but how often does that really happen? These last couple games have been won on the backs of Michael Pittman and Earnest Graham and, most importantly, an offensive line so much improved that one can only assume that aliens removed Bill Muir's brain and replaced it with something that knew more about run blocking. Like a blueberry pancake. All hail the pancake!
As I said before, I would guess that for the sake of depth, the Bucs promote Kenneth Darby and continue with their committee approach. Darby showed some flashes in the preseason, and if the team can get him to hold onto the ball, he should be a good choice to keep the other guys fresh.
The injury that worries me more is Luke Petitgout. Donald Penn kept Jeff Garcia's jersey clean in Petitgout's absence, but is he really ready for Dwight Freeney? I'm guessing we're going to see a lot of running backs staying in to chip Freeney next week as well as a few extra two tight end sets.
My apologies for the lack of pictures or links today. My internet connection today is about as reliable as the Eagles' offensive line. See? I can be topical.
