Jim Mora Is A Natural Leader

Published: September 28th, 2007
By Bucstats.com weblog

I missed this article when it came out a few days ago, so it's old news now. But any opportunity to illustrate how big an assbag Jim Mora was as a head coach is always worth taking. The article is mostly about how Bobby Petrino will be judged on his first year as a head coach and specifically how he will relate to his players. But some comparisons are made to Mora.

Rams Receive Ruud Awakening!

Published: September 28th, 2007
By Atop the Crow's Nest

Make it two straight home games where Tampa Bay have shut out their opponent in the first half. They did it in week two against The New Orleans Saints and they did it last week three against The St. Louis Rams. The Tampa Bay defense is looking quite nice and a few of the younger guys are starting to step up their play. The stand out being Barrett Ruud, who in his first full season of starting, threw three games, has a team leading 35 tackles (27 solo, 8 assists) 1 int, 1 pass deflection, a few forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. Ruud has been impressive in his first three full starts this year and things look like they could only get better.

Game 4 Preview: Panthers

Five Things You Didn't Know About The Panthers

  1. Backup QB David Carr was sacked twice jogging off the field on his way to the locker room last Sunday.
  2. John Kasay is the last remaining original Panther. No one on Earth hates teal more than this man.
  3. The Panthers are 44-45 all-time at home during the regular season. They actually have a home team disadvantage.
  4. During the offseason, linebacker Dan Morgan uses his hyperbaric chamber to store his extra-collectible Transformers.
  5. The inexplicably named TopCats are not all hot, bi-curious, alcoholic sluts who will take both you and your girlfriend into a public bathroom stall and leave you confused and covered in blisters. Some of them are, in fact, not hot at all.

QB Jeff Garcia, will he make it through the Season ALIVE?

Published: September 28th, 2007
By Buc 'Em
You gotta wonder with the BEATING QB Jeff Garcia has taken in just Three Short Games, How long can he possibly stay healthy?

Thus far he has sustained a cut on his non-throwing hand, a concussion thanks to the Seahawks Defense, and he recently received a bloody lip courtesy of the St. Louis Rams Defense. I guess it could be worse: He could be in a hospital bed with a ruptured spleen ..... ahh Sorry Simms!

Bucs LBs the best?

Published: September 27th, 2007
By Bucs Beat | tampabay.com - St. Petersburg Times and tbt*

I think we all had a feeling this linebacking corps could be special, but there were some legitimate concerns before the season.

Mine were mainly 1) would Barrett Ruud step up his play in his first season as a starter and 2) could Derrick Brooks still perform like he used to?

Both of those questions have been answered with a resounding "yes" and now, with Cato June flying around like a missle, it's worth asking whether the Bucs' linebackers are the best in the biz given their dominant play thus far.

Sabby Is Out For The Season

... but not out of our hearts. Sabby Piscitelli broke his right foot after bravely playing special teams during the Rams game. He's one of the most... *sniff* I said I wouldn't cry. He's one of the most courageous men I've ever had the privilege of stalking. The team won't be the same without his glowing presence and his... his... *runs away sobbing*

Michael Clayton explained why he blew up at Jon Gruden during the St. Louis game and grabbed his shirt.

"I told him, 'Don't do that to me,'" Clayton said Wednesday. "Hell no, I don't ever want to come out of a game again."

Piscitelli Out For Season

Published: September 26th, 2007
By Buccaneer Harbour
Well, I guess we won't be finding out just how good Sabby is at Safety this year. His foot injury, which is a fracture, is putting him out for the season, as the Bucs have placed him on IR. They've brought WR Chad Lucas back up, but he's not likely to stick if the Bucs decide to keep Cox on the roster without dumping Davis.

Game Review - Week 3

Published: September 26th, 2007
By Buccaneer Harbour
This post is a little more delayed than I had anticipated due to the time it took to set the house. I was on my land all day watching the beauty of modular construction first hand. But I digress...on with the game review!

The Bucs hosted the Rams this past Sunday, with the Rams coming in desperate for their first win of the season. The Bucs, however, were clearly determined to continue the trend that they had started against the Saints a week prior, and, to some extent, against the Seahawks. In the end, the Bucs were able to down the Rams 24-3 and go to 2-1. So how did each unit do?

Piscitelli’s season is over

Published: September 26th, 2007
By Bucs Beat | tampabay.com - St. Petersburg Times and tbt*

The Bucs have placed second-round pick Sabby Piscitelli on injured reserve after the safety sustained a broken right foot in Sunday's win against the Rams. The move will sideline him for the rest of the season.

In his place, the Bucs have added receiver Chad Lucas to the active roster from the practice squad, while adding tackle Jason Capizzi and receiver Michael Spurlock to the practice squad. Center/guard Enoka Lucas was released from the practice squad.
