Bucs Overcame Patriot Cheating In 2000

In 2000, the Bucs beat the Patriots in Foxboro in that year's season opener. An unnamed Tampa Bay assistant at the time recently told a story about that game.

When the Bucs beat the Pats in the 2000 season opener, one Tampa Bay assistant said he was told by a Pats' assistant that his team's victory was all the more impressive because "we knew what you were going to do on every play."

I don't know that this proves anything. It's not like guessing what Les Steckel was going to call was a challenging chess match of strategy or anything. "What?!? They're running Warrick Dunn off-tackle and Mike Alstott up the middle?!? Is that guy wearing a wizard hat or something?"

This is not a political statement.
