Trotter Signs; Biddle Need Not Unpack

Jeremiah Trotter finally signed with the Buccaneers yesterday, bringing the total back up to seven linebackers. I always liked Trotter when he was with the Eagles, but I can't help but wonder exactly where he'll fit in. When the team goes into a 3-4? How many times per game do they really plan to do that? He always seemed like a good motivator and leader, so maybe he will be even more valuable in that capacity.

Anyway, to make room for Trotter, the team released Taye Biddle, who was just signed over the weekend. I always wonder how much the team tells players like that. Did Biddle know he was likely to be released soon in favor of Trotter? Did they even bother giving him a jersey? Was he given the impression that he would be allowed to compete? Same thing with Leon Joe, who was also on the roster for a matter of hours. Did they ever leave their hotels?

Garcia will have the opportunity to do this again.
