The Broncos Finally Give Simeon A Job

If you had told me in March that the team that would have both Marcus Thomas and Simeon Rice on the defensive line would be the Broncos, I would have slapped you like a little bitch and run away crying, "It's not true! It can't be true!" with my hands over my face because I'm melodramatic like that.

I'm sure Rice will have a lot to say about his contract and how he is going to dominate, but don't let it fool you. He signed a one-year deal worth $3 million, which is significantly less than the reported $5 million that he would not accept from Tampa. He signed the same kind of deal that the Buccaneers offer veteran players in order to test them out: one-year worth less than their market value plus performance-based escalators. So for him to say this:

"Everybody knows it was a money thing," Rice said.

... is somewhat hypocritical, but that's nothing new. Denver is going to have an awesome defensive line this year, though.

Later on, Simeon actually took a bite out of Jim Miller.
