Professional football players endure all kinds of maladies. Some guys tear their knees up, some break bones, some even get paralyzed. But they do it all for the game. We must now include Jake Delhomme among the gladiators who have sacrificed their bodies for our entertainment.

The Carolina Panthers held starting quarterback Jake Delhomme out of practice Monday one day after he felt a "twitch" in his side while throwing.

After immobilizing the lower half of Delhomme's body and carrying him off the field on a solid gold stretcher, doctors ran him through dozens of tests and scans to try and isolate the cause of the twitch. It was finally determined that the reason Delhomme's side was twitching was because it knew Kenyatta Walker was now on the team.

As it turns out, Delhomme isn't the only Panther quarterback "suffering".

David Carr, who is playing with a broken small toe on his right foot, shared practice reps with Dalton Bell on Monday.

A broken pinky toe? A side twitch? Jesus, don't any of the Panthers get manly injuries? Next thing you know, Kris Jenkins will be held out with PMS.

My tushy hurts.
