Anthony Becht: Has quietly had a good camp, showing improvement in run blocking especially. He has given Gaines Adams a lot to think about, as he has had a lot of success blocking him this year. He has been the leader of the right end group and has set a good example.

Keith Heinrich: Has has had a decent camp catching the ball, but has to work on his blocking overall. He made a couple nice catches in the first preseason game, but of course they came in the third quarter against New England's second and third string.

Matt Herian: I honestly haven't heard much positive about him. He is getting destroyed in blocking and has been held out of a few practices.

C.J. Leak: More of the same. Except he's not catching the ball well, either.

Alex Smith: This guy really knows how to get himself open. He runs clean routes, has soft hands and seems to have developed a nice rhythm with Jeff Garcia. Again, blocking is the only concern.

Jerramy Stevens: Has not shown up drunk to practice even once! Just kidding... I have no way of knowing that. He has dropped a few balls in practice and been flagged for a false start or two. I'm sure the guy was chosen in the first round for a reason; maybe his height. He could be such a weapon if he could just hang onto the ball.

Making the team: Smith (starter), Becht, Heinrich
