Wednesday Training Camp Summary

Wide receivers, running backs and tight ends ran a gauntlet drill for the first time. Most everyone ran it perfectly except Ike Hilliard, who dropped a pass.
The offense overall looked rough during the 7-on-7 and 9-on-7 practices. Poorly thrown balls, dropped passes and poor running up the middle. To put a positive spin on it, the defense looked great. Ronde Barber intercepted at least three passes. The defense also won several 1-on-1 drills in a row.
Darrell Campbell had an especially good day today. He plugged running lanes and batted down a pass.
The scout team offense looked worse than yesterday. Chris Simms was awful. Keep in mind he is trying to immitate an offense that he doesn't know, so he's not going to be sharp. But his passes were all over the place. Luke McCown, on the other hand, did some excellent work in the 11-on-11 drills in the afternoon. He actually reminds me a little of Jeff Garcia, but with a better arm. He's mobile and throws well on the run.
More work in the 3-4. Patrick Chukwurah, Ryan Sims and Julian Jenkins were on the line. Cato June, Ryan Nece, Jamie Winborn and Quincy Black were the linebackers.
As always, there was special teams work on Wednesday. Nothing special except that Josh Bidwell had a huge punt. Well over 60 yards.
