Sammy Davis Is Part Camel

What names come up when you think of great inventors? Leonardo DaVinci? Thomas Edison? Hacks! What did they ever do for football? Now, cornerback Sammy Davis... there's an inventor.
Sweating through those types of conditions prompted Davis and childhood friend Chris Spencer to invent the "Hydration System.""It's just a water bladder that goes on the back of your shoulder pads," Davis said. "It allows you to drink water when you're out there on the field. It has a tube that you can wrap around your head."
This is a huge improvement over the system Max McGee used to hydrate himself on the field in the 1960s: a flask of bourbon hidden in his jock.
Spencer and Davis even started a company to sell it. Davis has said he isn't going to quit football to be a full-time inventor, but one can see the potential. What else could a player conceivably carry in a bladder on his shoulder pads that he may need on the field? Hot dogs? Vicodin? Attorneys? You know what I would carry in my on-field bladder? Love.
