Michael Vick Is No Longer Outstanding; Still A Dogkiller

The Southern Christian Leadership Conference has decided that Michael Vick isn't really an outstanding human being and is not worthy of honor at their conference this week.

"There is no award, there is no honor for Mike Vick," SCLC spokesman David Stokes said Tuesday.

This reversal was surely nudged by Georgia State Representitive Tyrone Brooks, a former aide to Martin Luther King, Jr. who thinks that maybe being a rich douchebag isn't part of the credentials needed to be recognized by a civil rights group.

"To talk about a superstar athlete who's got millions and millions in the bank, with the resources available to put together a defense team ... we're mixing up our priorities to the extent that it causes confusion," he said.

What a relief. A ceremony to honor as a human being is exactly the opposite of what should be done. Wait, is being shackled and buried to your neck in a kennel for abused, rabid and incontinent dogs the opposite of a ceremony? It's close, anyway.
