Friday, Saturday And Sunday Camp Summary

Gaines Adams was back on Friday. Luke Petitgout was held out again despite Jon Gruden's optimism the previous day. Anthony Davis took Petitgout's spot at left tackle. Maybe not a bad idea if Petitgout can't get healthy. Petitgout's medical "situation" may lead to a big re-shifting of the offensive line. Petitgout came back on Saturday, but was very limited.
Chris Simms threw more on Friday morning than he had the rest of the week combined. His first throw was a beautiful spiral to Joey Galloway. Luke McCown, on the other hand, was inconsistent. Simms didn't get any work Friday afternoon.
Phillip Buchanon did get involved a little in the offense. He ran three routes against no defense and caught the ball each time.
Chas Gessner seems to be getting a lot of work. I'm not sure if the team will have room for him on the roster, but if the team holds onto a surprise extra receiver, it will probably be him. He made an incredible catch down the left sideline that reminded me of a Joe Jurevicius catch in the 2003 Philadelphia game.
I'm going to stop bragging on Sabby Piscitelli so much because it's becoming repetitive. He's just having an outstanding camp.
Matt Bryant practiced pooch punting on fake field goals. He also missed three of five real field goals on Friday.
Have I mentioned how fast Patrick Churwurah is? The less-experienced left tackles on the team don't have a chance against him. It's really not even fair.
Jon Gruden was heard telling Jeb Terry to get his head out of his ass o Saturday. I'm not sure what the infraction was.
Speaking of Gruden, sometimes he lines up to cover wide receivers. On Saturday, he actually intercepted a pass intended for Galloway.
There were several bad center/quarterback exchanges Saturday morning.
The WR/DB one-on-ones were heavily in favor of the defense on Saturday morning. Brian Kelly looks especially sharp.
Kenneth Darby is not blocking well.
Jeff Garcia had an interesting completion to Cadillac Williams during a full-team drill on Sunday. It looked like one of those improvised passes you'd see from Brett Favre.
