Luke Petitgout was out again. Jon Gruden has changed the explanation from "sore body" to "tweaked back", which is much worse. Petitgout has a history of back problems. Gaines Adams, Joey Galloway, Ryan Sims and Ellis Wyms all missed practice also.

Arron Sears
and Cato June had a little scuffle in the morning practice. It's the first fight I've heard about so far this camp.

Chris Simms threw a little, but not much. Gruden continues to praise Luke McCown.

Ball-handling in general was pretty bad since it rained for the whole morning practice. Gruden made his disappointment about it known. If anyone was good through the rain, though, it was David Boston. He lays himself out for every overthrown ball. Jeff Garcia wore gloves for part of the practice to see how well he handled the wet ball with them on.

Matt Bryant was six-for-six in the rain. One of them was 45 yards.

Quincy Black, Tanard Jackson and Sabby Piscitelli all stood out on Thursday. Piscitelli shot through gaps with a lot of speed while blitzing, causing a fumble one time.

Gruden said they were looking into Phillip Buchanon playing offense a little, but wouldn't go into detail. There are always little wrinkles like that every camp and they rarely come to pass, so I probably wouldn't put too much into it right now.

The afternoon practice was all special teams.

Sabby Piscitelli was asked to wear a bib for practice because he kept getting pieces of offensive guard all over his jersey.
