Wednesday Training Camp Summary

Luke Petitgout and Gaines Adams both had the day off to nurse injuries. Petitgout is apparently "sore" and Adams has a triceps strain.

Alan Zemaitis is finally breaking up some passes consistently. So are Tanard Jackson and Torrie Cox. They all looked pretty good. Monte Kiffin said Cox may have made the "play of the day" on one breakup.

A reverse from Joey Galloway to David Boston! It worked, too.

Davin Joseph is a monster in the run game. Cadillac Williams's impressive camp has a lot to do with Joseph opening up some nice holes for him.

Earnest Graham fumbled again. I realize Kenneth Darby is a rookie seventh rounder, but he has looked better than Graham so far this camp. This may be Mr. August's last camp in Tampa. And don't get too emotionally attached to Lionel Gates.

There's no way Chad Lucas makes this team. He has muffed a couple punts and isn't good enough at receiver to challenge for a spot there. He was brought in because of his body of work at Hawaii as a returner, but he's looking more like the guy that Jacksonville cut last year.

In case you cared, Matt Bryant was six-for-six Wednesday in field goal attempts.

Jon Gruden said that Thursday would be "Phillip Buchanon Day" at camp. Whatever that means.

Again, Chris Simms didn't throw during team drills; he only handed the ball off.

The Bucs took the afternoon off to go see a movie. Then they talked about their feelings.

Quick site note that doesn't deserve its own entry: I accidentally deleted some legitimate comments today that were in the queue along with a bunch of spam. I know there were at least three real comments by real people. I was a little quick with the trigger, and I apologize. I hear it happens to a lot of guys, though, and it totally doesn't make me any less of a man. Feel free to repost. I'll try thinking of football statistics or something when I'm clearing the queue next time.

In five years, Sabby Piscitelli will be known as the best player the Bucs drafted in 2007. Seriously.
