Emmitt Smith Seeks Bigger Fish, Tartar Sauce

Emmitt Smith, not content to simply piss on his legacy by doing Dancing With the Stars, now feels it's necessary to sic the dogs on his credibility by defending Michael Vick. As if ending his career with the Cardinals wasn't bad enough.
"Now he may be involved to some degree of dogfighting, but hey, there are a lot bigger fish to fry than Michael Vick. There's a whole ring of stuff that's going on and the investigation goes deeper than Michael Vick."
Smith goes on to say that he thinks the federal government is going after Vick so he will turn on the "bigger fish". Of course, Bad Newz Kennels, which is at the center of the investigation, was headquartered at Vick's property. That was the same property where 54 dogs were removed. Then 17 more dead ones were removed. Oh, and a bunch of dogfighting equipment. All of which Vick presumably owned. I know dogfighting is pretty popular in some circles and is fairly widespread, but any reasonable person who looked at the sheer volume of evidence should conclude that Vick was heavily involved in dogfighting, regardless of who else out there is also.
One more thing. Remember Davon Boddie, the cousin who was living at the property? He was not named in the dogfighting indictment. Boddie claimed to have no knowledge of dogfighting on the property and then was never heard from again. Meanwhile, the indictment listed four cooperating witnesses who gave up information like names of dogs. How likely is it that Boddie isn't one of those witnesses? Not very. And if there was some mysterious kingpin, a "bigger fish", wouldn't Boddie have preferred to finger him rather than his own cousin? If not out of family loyalty then at least because he doesn't want Vick to find him and, I dunno... slather his balls with Alpo and send one of his starved killing machines after him?
Remember how incensed Smith was when Lawrence Phillips was arrested for assaulting his ex-girlfriend? He was visibly and publicly frustrated that a talented player would put himself in a position to jeopardize his career. Phillips definitely has a rage problem, but he didn't start a side-business of dragging chicks around by their hair. Vick, on the other hand, has an established machine in place to promote, enjoy and profit off the abuse and death of man's best friend. And Smith wants us to believe that most of it is government posturing because Vick is famous. The world was enraged when Clinton Portis said dogfighting wasn't so bad. I will be immensely disappointed if Smith receives special treatment for his statements because of his NFL legacy.
This chick is pointing to the exact place where Smith needs to be repeatedly kicked.
