Peter King Is Frustrating

I am sometimes critical of national NFL analysts because they take too broad a view of the Buccaneers and don't deliver any meaningful analysis. But I kind of have to hand it to (sigh) Peter King in his three sentence analysis of the Buccaneers in his rankings of all 32 teams.
Not to be critical of [Jeff] Garcia, who played well last year, but to be in year six of the Gruden Era and not have a quarterback of the future (at least in the quarterback molder's eyes) in sight is frightening.
Ouch. The team has needed a franchise quarterback since, really, Trent Dilfer. If Gruden had ever thought of Chris Simms as truly the future of the position, he'd be getting more consideration now than he is right now. And Shaun King's one season as a starter doesn't qualify him. So I guess Peter has a point.
A point that is quickly invalidated by the fact that he ranks the Bucs #29 out of 32 behind Oakland, a team with a rookie quarterback and a head coach who may or may not be old enough to drink. Further proof that King is insane? Detroit is ranked #13. Bobby Layne rolling over in his grave is more athletic than Jon Kitna, but somehow they might just make the playoffs. And even though he ranks Indianapolis at the top, he barely says anything complimentary about them in the commentary, saving all the praise instead for New England at #2. Peter, take a cue from Takeru Kobayashi. You can really injure your jaw by keeping Tom Brady's crank in your mouth for such an extended period.
