2k Sports "The Bigs" is finally in stores . . .

2K Sports Arcade Style Baseball Game, THE BIGS, is in stores now. To bad only owners of a XBox 360 or PS3 can play it.

Thus far I've heard the game is crazy addictive and extremely fun to play. The games move fast and the ridiculousness of the game isnt over bearing. When I was previewing this game it seemed 5 innings was all you could play, well thats only if you choose the "Play Now" option, choose "Exhibition Mode" and you can play a full 9 innings.

Let the standoff begin

Published: June 26th, 2007
By Bucs Beat | tampabay.com - St. Petersburg Times and tbt*

The Bucs got off to an early start in signing their draft picks, inking fourth-round pick Tanard Jackson and seventh-rounder Marcus Hamilton in the past few days.

That's all well and good, but the hardest part is still to come. Negotiating a deal with first-round pick Gaines Adams will be a thorny process given the expected value of his contract. For a little perspective, consider last year's No. 4 pick -- the Jets' D'Brickashaw Ferguson -- signed a six-year contract worth about $37.5-million.

Bucky Brooks Is Delusional

Published: June 26th, 2007
By Bucstats.com weblog

Bucky Brooks, a former cornerback who bounced between five different teams (multiple times) in four years in the mid-90s and failed to ever record an interception, ranks the top 25 wide receivers in the league. He leaves off Joey Galloway but decides Mark Clayton and Reggie Brown should be on there. That is reason enough to not take him seriously. This, though, could be admitted as evidence if he ever decides to plead insanity in the future:

State Of The Team - Defense

Published: June 25th, 2007

If you haven't read the post below this one, READ IT FIRST!! Then come back to this one.

Having said that, let's look at the defensive positions, having covered the offensive position already. With that we'll start on the defensive line. A real battle is apparently brewing here between Haye, Wyms, and Carter. Pewter Report has more details in several articles on this, but overall, it's looking like we'll be seeing much improved play from one of the most key positions on the defensive line. The Nose is pretty much set with Hovan, and deservedly so. Should be interesting to see if the other players draw enough attention to allow Hovan to get more heat on the QB this year. At the ends, Gaines Adams is primarily practicing at right DE in place of Rice, whose still not ready to constantly battle, and needs to save the shoulder for training camp. Chukwurah apparently is getting reps at the ends as well, and appears to be doing a good job. Spires will likely see his time split with Adams and Chukwurah if Rice comes back 100%. The battles here should greatly impact the defense as a unit, and Coyer is a tremendous DL coach who should be able to get similar results to Marinelli. I expect to see at least a 10 sack improvement out of this unit.
