What Do Ryam Sims And Luke Petitgout Have In Common?

The Sarasota Herald-Tribune has an on Ryan Sims and how dissatisfied he was with the Chiefs. Specifically, he accuses Herm Edwards of creating a negative atmosphere.
"Some coaches just believe the more negative you are ... You don't have a team of 28 guys trying to get traded for nothing," Sims said. "Every starter there is trying to get out of there. ... Look at it. Ask (quarterback) Trent Green (traded to the Miami Dolphins) about it. You can just look at the numbers, look at the morale, you tell me."
When did Tampa Bay turn into the Land of Misfit Players? Seems like every free agent the Bucs brought in this year has something shitty to say about their former team.
Sims had better watch how negative or personal he gets when talking about Edwards. Herm still has some friends on the Buccaneers' roster who are considered leaders of the team. To his credit, Sims says all the right things about his new opportunity in Tampa.
"They love defense here, period. They've got a history of defense. They love defensive lineman," Sims said. "This is a big opportunity. My goal is to start. I didn't come here to be a backup. I don't think anybody came here to be a backup. That's what I'm doing every day, trying to be a starter."
With Kevin Carter and Chris Hovan in the mix, I'm guessing Sims's wish won't come true, at least not right away. Word out of minicamp is that Sims is kind of slow with poor footwork and needs to lose some weight. But when he lines up at the nose in the 3-4, he does his job and takes two blockers out of the mix. He was a #6 overall pick for some reason. If he can stay healthy, he might have a job as a backup this season.
